Mt Laguna Camping Trip


Weekend of August 1st, 2nd, 3rd... 
Mt. Laguna
(1 hr from San Diego)

Details:
A group of fellow friends/dancers are heading up to the beautiful Buckwheat camp ground for a outdoor retreat.  Come up for the just the day on Saturday, or come and camp on Friday or Friday and Saturday.  

There is plenty of space for everyone so no reservation is needed... if your planning on it your welcome to let me know but it's not required.

Who's Coming?
People keep asking me... many of these are campers and a few others are just up for the day Saturday...
Mary, Sylvia, Jim, Paul, Karen, Otis, Bunny, Andy, Dwight, Charles, Madir, Sherry, Bobbie, Norma, Ivan, Mike. Sylvia S. plus probably others who can't commit yet and who I forgot that told me they were coming !!!

Current Rough Schedule:

Friday

Setup tents around camping area (probably the best spots are near the fence along the east and south side of the camp fire area)

(I will be driving up after work and will get there around 6:00pm but your more than welcome to come up anytime Friday afternoon). Bunny will be there earlier in the day and probably several others.

Afternoon Setup Tents, Hike, Have a drink at the Blue Jay Lodge Bar, Bunny will do a dog show with the one trick her dog can do ;)
7:00pm Dinner
8:30pm Campfire after dusk

Saturday
9:00am Breakfast
(those who want to cook can, those who want to eat out at the Blue Jay Lodge can)
10:30am Hike
1:30pm Lunch - at camp or those who want to eat out can go visit the Blue Jay Lodge
Afternoon - Rest, Relax, Play Cards, Visit Julian, Check out the Mt. Laguna Visitor Center, Frisbee, Hike again, Play with the pooches, Read a book, Go play cards at the blue jay lodge..
Have a beer, Practice breathing fresh air !!!  
5:00pm - Desert Overlook Road Trip (5 minutes from camp)
6:00pm Happy Hour
7:00pm Dinner
8:00pm Card players unite... poker??

Tthose who want to bring a little something to share for happy hour or for dinner time can
8:30pm Campfire
9:00pm Dancing around the camp fire

Sunday
9:00am Breakfast
(those who want to cook can, those who want to eat out at the Blue Jay Lodge can)
10:30am Hike
Pack up tent, relax
1:30pm - Check Out

Store: (across from Blue Jay Lodge)
There is a small store just down the road a mile from the camp ground where you can get ice, pop, some food, snacks, some camping stuff etc...
Keep in mind they do close at 5pm on Friday & Saturday.

Directions/Location - Laguna/El Prado/Buckwheat Campground:
(1 hr from San Diego)

El Prado Group Camp / Buckwheat Camp Ground Site inside of El Prado area of group camps.

(this site is just next to the site we have been at during previous years)

Mt. Laguna, CA, Take I-8 to Sunrise Exit, Go approximately 15 miles to Laguna/El Prado Campground on your left.  Turn left into the campground, then stay right at every turn until you enter the group camp area.  Buckwheat site is the 3rd group site on your right. (if you need it there is a map on the board when you first pull into the Laguna/El Prado Camping area.)

Showers:
Yes there are showers in the camp ground which we have access to. Bring some quarters.

Cost:  Free if your just coming up for a day outing on Saturday, if your camping it's $20/person for the weekend to pay for the site assuming we can get 10 people camping.  If those who are just coming up for the day, want to donate $5 we can give a $5 refund to the campers who paid for the weekend.
