We will show video clips of different styles of Zydeco dancers to identify the Texas and Louisiana style that we are learning to emulate in our own dancing.

We will practice the movements first to engrain them in our memory at slow and then faster tempo's. Then we will learn how to incorporate these moves into your standard Zydeco dance patterns with the hand toss.

Workshop Description:
I specifically picked many new moves we did not cover from last years workshop and we can review moves from the previous year time permitting.  We will also cover some frame lead and follow techniques & tips through out the workshop.  There are other events going on over the weekend so if possible please let me know if your planning on attending the workshop just to make sure there is enough interest. 

I will confirm with everyone attending if they give me some type of contact info, greg@zydecoach.com or 619-857-8409.  I am in town for my regular job later in the week but I will be in Manhattan Sunday, Monday & Tuesday if for some reason Sunday does not work let me know if Monday or Tuesday are better and we could possibly do a smaller workshop for a few others if they could not make it Sunday. 

Moves from last years workshop: The Flip Out, Hip to Hip, Double Rock, Inside Turn from Closed or Open, and the Side by Side.

Video:  I will bring festival DVD's to play on the dance studio's TV as we did last year.  I have many DVD's from festivals and events that we didn't get a chance to watch last year plus some new I acquired this year.

We got a dance studio for the Intermediate & Advanced Zydeco workshop on October 21st from 12-2:30pm. 

There are many moves on Tuesday's that can not be covered due to the space needed so it will be wonderful to have a little more space to break down these and more advanced moves that do not get covered at Tio Leo's on Tuesdays.

The workshop will cover:

Intermediate: Partner Toss, Creole Hips, Walk Through's, Twist & Tap, Hip Push, Freestyle Footwork & Dance Frame

Advanced: Lafayette Tap Slide, Reverse Syncopated Turns, Zydeco Washing Machine, Double Lifts & the Floating Slide with the hand toss and side taps

Time: 12:00pm-2:30pm

Video Review: I will have video to show as well so we can watch and break down some of the hot Louisiana Dancers to see what they are doing...

Requests:  If there is a specific move you have seen and you want it covered please let me know and we can include it in the workshop.
